Living here, you’ll never get bored.
History of Weldon
Weldon, so named for Daniel Weldon, who founded the town in 1745, was the first railroad hub of the South thanks to the Union Station of Weldon. Due to both the railroad and the town’s location on the Roanoke River, Weldon also thrived during the Civil War, with nine or so Confederate training camps established there.

Weldon’s National Registered Historic District, established in 1996, is home to residential neighborhoods boasting beautiful homes in the Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Neo-Classical Revival, and Craftsman styles—each with its own history. Surely, your home will be one of a kind!

Nearly 200 years old, the Roanoke Canal was once used as a source of water power to generate electricity for the town. Now, the property features a museum and a trail that’s great for hiking or cycling.
